Hi guys,
I spend a lot of time learning on treehouse but I don't visit the forum too often. I had a good time today helping people out and I got an email notification telling me someone up-voted my answer.
Great I thought, and I had an idea that it would be nice if this showed up on my profile or even part of my treehouse points.
Kind of like stack overflow but simplified.

42,016 Pointsit would also be nice to show what posts you made/replied to on the forum, and have maybe a seperate section of points that showcases points gained in the forum instead of lumping them together.

8,051 PointsI agree, maybe this number could be represented in some visual way, perhaps where highly rated participants could get a not so bold version of the circle around the profile picture that staff have.
A system like this is actually present in most forums.

Courses Plus Student 17,771 PointsUnless I am mistaken, you get a point for each up-vote and somewhere around 5-10 points for a "best answer". This isnt in a "Form" category though. I think the points are added to the section the question is assigned to. So if a question is assigned to the HTML category and you give an answer that is up-voted, your HTML points increase by 1.

18,015 PointsYes, this is correct (12 points for best answer by the way), but I don't think this system is particulary good. I think you should differentiate between points earned from videoes and points earned from forum activity.

8,051 Points12 points seems a little steep, given that we all have thousands of points, a point per up-vote seems fair.
Other forums implement a tiered system which I think could work based on all kinds of variables.
