Hi All:
Just wondering whether anyone in the Treehouse community has gone on to enrol in one of the developer bootcamps? I'd love to hear about experiences both good and bad and thoughts about how you made your choice and whether now that you've been through it all if the treehouse really would have been good enough.
Currently, I'm looking at Bloc.io Thinkful.com the Firehose Project
Cheers,
Brendan

496 PointsIn my honest opinion. THIS IS MY OPINION, if you're going to do one of those "bootcaps" why not just go to college and get a certificate? It's more expensive yes, but that way you have a cert and didn't waste a bunch of your own money online.
From what I've heard the "bootcamps" are a scam, which makes sense because you're sending hundreds of dollars to somebody who's going to "teach" you a language yet, you will never see them.
Sorry if this is a bit harsh, not my intention.

10,071 PointsHi Brendan - Some colleges have certificate programs in CS for people who already have undergrad degrees in other areas. That might be what Thomas was referring to, and I also recommend looking into it. I'm actually in one one of those programs right now!

5,521 PointsHi Thomas: Many thanks for the opinion. In my case, I have a degree, just not one in computer science. I'd really rather do it online and in an intensive way so as not to waste lots of time.
Cheers, Brendan
