Bootstrap - Front-End Track

Hi all,

I'm following the courses in the Front-End track.

I was looking forward to learning Bootstrap through Treehouse. Right now I'm about halfway through Bootstrap 4 Basics. I feel like I'm having to drag myself through the videos, knowing each one is likely to have code amendments underneath. I'm feeling a little frustrated the more I see this, so, as not to get demotivated I'm wondering whether to drop this Bootstrap course and move onto the next stage of the Front-End track.

Once I've completed all other courses of the Front-End track, I may return to this Bootstrap course and try again, or use an alternative resource outside of Treehouse.

Does anyone know if Bootstrap is needed at a later point in the remaining part of the Front-End track?

Thanks,

Gary.

Hey Gary,

I am working on the Front-End Web Development as well. I am not yet up to Bootstrap section yet, but I already know it and use it day to day. Some of the videos can make you feel like you are being dragged a long. You might need to give yourself a break. It's not a good idea to jump around, but I did because I am working on more than one subject. Try practicing creating some of the skills you learn with Bootstrap on Codepen.io. If you are having trouble understanding it you can reach out to other users or even Youtube.

I enjoy Bootstrap portion of the front end track. I did struggle with it in the beginning as well, but I went back a few videos to get a better understanding of flexbox properties and the flexible grid concept. That helped a lot.

Thank you both for your advice.

I'm not working today, so I'm planning to finish the remainder of the course today and then try to play about with it over the back half of the day.
