browser compatibility

Hey,

So i developed a website in HTML,CSS and JQuery. Throughout development i ran my website on google chrome and I got good results. I uploaded my website on the server today and I got a friend to look at it and discovered that it isn't running well on other browsers. For example, I have images that are displayed in a certain colour on chrome. When i use Safari, the image background colours change.

There are several more discrepancies present.

Can someone suggest a way to approach this? Why is it happening and what should i do about it?

thanks yousef

Hi Yousseef,

It's a case of trial and error. Research what your website needs in terms of HTML and CSs features you will use and find out what the current browser support is like for those features on caniuse.com.

Also look at things like shims and plugins for earlier versions of Internet Explorer. You'll find caniuse a great resource. :-)

Thank you Jonathan! The website looks pretty resourceful! I'll look through it, hopefully ill find what i need : )
