BrowserStack down (for the time being) [UPDATED - 100% back online]

Thousands of users within the past hour have being receiving a very dissatisfying email stating that BrowserStack is shutting it's doors and reveals (to be confirmed) sensitive company details stating how things are run with their network around the world.

At this point in time my recommendation to everyone who uses the service is don't freak out but please don't respond to the email if you get it, at this point in time it would appear BrowserStack are in serious damage control and have no interest making it worse with a public statement.

However, from what I've gathered it would appear they've been hacked from either a current or former disgruntled employee but again that is to be confirmed by BrowserStack and no one in the community.

I'll also recommend you go and change your password for any other service you use in conjunction with your BrowserStack password just a precaution since details are limited.

UPDATE:

BrowserStack have confirmed they did get hacked.

UPDATE 2:

BrowserStack's site is back online but their global testing network is still offline, currently they haven't confirmed if sensitive user data was compromised so best to go change your password just in case.

UPDATE 3:

BrowserStack have restored all services and are now accepting all VM start requests, if you experience issues please contact their support team via email, Twitter or Facebook.

We deeply apologise for the concerns that our users have been experiencing due to the attack on BrowserStack. We have determined that the hacker's access has been restricted solely to a list of email addresses. As a precaution, we recommend changing your BrowserStack password.

We are still in the process of sanitisation, and making doubly sure this situation never reoccurs. We are on top of it, and will post updates as they happen. Thank you for your patience. BrowserStack will be back up in a few hours.

[UPDATE] Automate and Screenshot services are up and running. Live will shortly be up. We will email all users with the entire analysis of the attack soon. Thanks for your patience and apologies for the inconvenience.

[UPDATE] All BrowserStack services are now up and running. We are keeping a strong check on the system and will email all users the entire analysis.

Thanks for the forum Chris Upjohn

Thank you Sagar for the updates along the way.
