PHP PHP Basics (Retired) PHP Conditionals & Loops Conditionals Challenge

"Bummer! I cannot see your 'if' statement"?

During PHP Conditionals & Loops during the first code challenge: task 2, I am hitting a bug that says "Bummer! I cannot see your 'if' statement". I am providing the code it requests in the correct context and syntax.

<?php

$name = 'Mike';

if($name == "Mike"){ }

?>

The task reads "Under the variable $name create a if statement that test to see that the $name variable is set to the string 'Mike'."

Thank you, Matt

Try putting everything on separate lines

I tried with no result. The engine checking the code does not recognize the if statement.

This challenge is currently broken, there is no way to complete it as of now.

Thank you.
