A parameter is a name that stands for an argument that will be passed in when a method is called, and a field is a value that is stored inside an object.

For example:

public class frog
{
    public int TongueLength; // "TongueLength" is a field

    public bool EatFly(distanceToFly) // "distanceToFly" is a parameter
// ....
