15,362 PointsI am assuming you are looking for Python projects. How about looking here? https://www.reddit.com/r/beginnerprojects/

19,810 PointsI'm not sure where you live, but most cities will have at least one web development meetup group in the area. My area has meetups for Python, JavaScript, and Ruby on Rails.
It can be a great way to get out, meet, and learn from other developers in your area.

19,810 PointsYou're welcome, Shane. I'm sure you could probably find people to work together on a project through the forums here, too. I know I've seen several people asking about getting involved in a project.

15,362 PointsThis is great advice! I didn't think of meetup! Thanks Roy.

Learning development can be a lonely experience. It helps to meet other like-minded individuals who "get it". lol

15,362 PointsI think looking at GitHub for open source projects that you can contribute to and also reddits or other Python/whatever communities online will work too. It is true that GitHub might be a little too advanced if you are just starting out in a language, but at least you will get an idea of what the big projects are and what they might be looking for as far as contributions are concerned. I am not coding in Python (yet?) but there are such online communities for Ruby.
