Can I Use CodePen Code in my Website

I am building a website, and while I was cracking my head over its design, I spotted a set of code in CodePen that excellently performs an action that I want. Can I use that code without bumping into copyright issues? At this stage as a new student in coding I cannot write the code - maybe later when I am well seasoned I will be able to - but I am happy that I have acquired the habit to search online until I spot what I want. I am also not well versed on CodePen open source and forking, although I tried to read through that. I am using the public and free platform in CodePen.

The Code I want to use is this one http://codepen.io/ChrisMla/pen/jWMLWY

This is a great question!! And the answer is yes, you can use the code you found on CodePen, if it was a public pen.

According to CodePen, "The gist of it is open source. Anyone can use the code you put on CodePen for whatever they wish - but if they do - that code also must have this same license. This is to encourage open sharing of code."

Thank you Kristopher! Now I am happy, I have applied the code that I wanted to my website and it is working perfectly. Aluta continua! But please tell me, how come my community page does not have Best Answer or upVote icons?

Awesome! And for General Discussion topics there is no option for upVoting or selecting best answers since it's simply a discussion :)
