Can I use the Treehouse Workspace insted of Intelliji IDEA

You probably can. Treehouse workspaces are great to start with or for testing simple programs. If you want to code professionally or just create your own projects learning an IDE is absolutely the way to go. Treehouse has a great course all about setting up and running a java IDE. Check it out here
