JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Making Decisions with Conditional Statements Introducing Conditional Statements

Can not get JavaScript introduction to conditionals challenge to work

In the first challenge in this course, I do task 1 and am told everything is working. I move on to task 2 and when I check my work I am told that task 1 has stopped working, but I have not changed it.

The prompt box pops up and if I fill in JavaScript I get an alert box telling my 'You are correct'

Could someone tell me where I am going wrong?

app.js
var answer = prompt('What is the best programming language?');
if ( answer.toUpperCase() === 'JAVASCRIPT' ) {
  alert('You are correct');
}
index.html

</head>
<body>
<script src="app.js"></script>
</body>
</html>

After having looked at the exercise there is nothing wrong with your code but the exercise isnt expecting you to use the toUpperCase() method. It is looking for a more simple answer.

var answer = prompt('What is the best programming language?');
if ( answer === 'JavaScript' ) {
  alert('You are correct');
}

I tried this code in the editor and it passed.

That was quick! Thanks. Will take the toUpperCase out and see how it goes.

Thanks! helped me out too!
