Can we add a #id or .class right in the img tag?

I've been wondering this for a while about img tags, for example

<img src="images/happyface.jpg" height="45" width="55" alt="happy" class="picture">

Just curious. Thanks in advance for any answers.

Yes, that is valid

yes you can do that. thats how it works with all elements. you can add a class to a paragraph element or anything:

<p class="paragraph"> some text</p>
