Can you get a job with a company as a mobile developer without a degree?

I know the belief is that it's possible to get a job as a web developer without a degree, but what about mobile development?

It is very much possible! If you can prove your skills they won't stop you because of the lack of a degree. Some companies will, but I'd guess they are the minority.

If you can create a portfolio showcasing your skills you will be able to get a job that way.

Good luck!

Just saying from what I've read online, mobile development tends to favor degree's which kind of sucks as mobile is what I've been leaning towards.

There are actually 50% of companies that require a degree and 50% that do not. (I actually checked it in my country) Among those 50% requiring the degree you can get a job without any degree with most of them (I would say 30% of them).

However you should know the skills and show that you have done some projects. Fields like Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (Computer Science fields, not IT/dev fields) are more likely to require a degree, actually I believe that 90% of them do. But then again it's all about skills. Shem them, impress them. Since you want to be a mobile dev it will be easier.

All it takes is getting a first job, then you can use this experience as your forte. Post your cv online (indeed, monster jobs...etc) and you will probably receive some calls from recruiters, but make sure you have done some projects. I am actually working in a bank as a full stack web developer, and I have no degree :) I've had more than 10 interviews and out of those ten only 1 asked for a degree, it was in Big Data. (which is okay because it is a very math friendly field).

Remember that in tech world no one cares about your degree (unless they are google or facebook). They care about what you can do and what you have done. A github account is for instance much more informative than a degree.
