Can't connect to SFTP server

As part of the How to make a website series, I am using the same host as Nick uses in the video. I have entered all of the information according to the email the host site sent me (the same as Nick entered what was sent to his email) and it hasn't worked at all. And I also keep having a little triangle image underneath the port number box (even after I enter all of my information). It has an exclamation mark in it but I'm not sure what it's for. It looks like an error notification but doesn't tell me anything that it might be for. It has been over 24 hours since purchasing the domain and hosting.

Hi Andrew,

SFTP is used for SSH authentication via public/private keys, by default this is normally disabled for shared hosting accounts for security reasons, try using the FTP protocol instead which only requires your account's username and password.

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, that still did not work. The error response message that I am now getting is, "Connection timed out: connect." When I run the SFTP, I get the following error message, "There was a problem while connecting to 'mywebsitename.com'18765." Now, that being said, when I type my web site into my address bar, I am directed to a page that does not match the one in the video by Nick. It directs me to a page (with my web address) that states that, "This domain was recently registered at namecheap.com. The domain owner may currently be creating a great site for this domain. Please check back later!" Then below that are related links and advertisements for name cheap. Does this mean that I am attempting to connect too soon? It has been over 24 hours since I registered the domain name and purchased the hosting.

Hi, if you are seeing the page go to name cheap it means the DNS update did not likely go through. Did you already update the DNS?
