can't see what I'm doing wrong

grocery_list = { 'title' => 'Grocery List', 'items' => [] } grocery_item = { 'title' => 'Bread', 'quantity' => 1 } grocery_list["items"] = grocery_item

I don't understand what the problem is and why I'm getting an error pls help!! I tried running this in irb and it worked fine thank you

grocery_list = { 'title' => 'Grocery List', 'items' => [] }
grocery_item = { 'title' => 'Bread', 'quantity' => 1 }
grocery_list["items"] = grocery_item

when you use the = operator, you are setting the value of grocery_list['items'] to that item specifically

instead, use the << operator to add grocery_item to that list.

grocery_list['items'] << grocery_item
