Can't start a new project... Android Studio messing up

Before, I woke up and opened Android Studio and I kept getting errors when trying to run.. It worked perfectly the day before, but this time I kept getting errors. I tried everything on Google to fix it and nothing worked, so I just reinstalled Android Studio and deleted my project as a last resort hoping I could just start again and remake everything.

Now I keep getting this error here instead after a whole lot of other issues before hand:

Error:Connection timed out: connect. If you are behind an HTTP proxy, please configure the proxy settings either in IDE or Gradle.

I do have a fast/stable internet. This was never an issue before.

Edit: I get this error when I try and open an old project or even just make a new one. I'm unable to even create a new project without getting errors.

Are you using a physical device or default emulator or Genymotion emulator? Have you adjusted the network connection on the device/emulator to be throttled?

What website/URL are you trying to access? Can you get there from your browser?

This error occurs as soon as I start a new project or open android studio, sinse reinstalling I haven't even got to the point of setting up an emulator?

So after 4 days of fixing computer issue after computer issue I was finally able to do a System Recovery and now I believe it all works. As long as I can get the course finished I'm happy. I think reasons it was messing up was just down to a lot of issues with my computer personally and nothing else.

Glad you got this working, Sam! Inoperable tools can be the most frustrating thing to work through.

The official version 1.0 of Android Studio was released yesterday, so that might help you keep things running smoothly in the future. Best of luck!
