Casting

why we need to add cast like(textview) or (Button)

Hello,

We need to cast those objects because the findViewById method returns a View object and we are wanting to store those them as a Button or a TextView. You can assign a child object to a variable of the parent class's type, but not the other way around so in order to store them, we have to cast them.
