Any reason not to use the CDN for mediaElements files?

A CDN can be very handy although it depends where your server is located it could be slow way to pull in resources. it has its pros and cons usually having files locally can be hard cached and load faster. Although CDN means you save space on only pull it in when a page really needs it. Hope this helps!
