Challenge - JavaScript Basics - Create a variable named myName but don't put anything in it yet.

Whenever I try to 'check work,' it says that there has been a 'communication error' and won't submit properly. Have never had this problem before.

scripts.js
var myName
index.html
<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<html>
<head>
  <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
  <title>JavaScript Basics</title>
</head>
<body>
<script src="scripts.js"></script>
</body>
</html>

Create a variable named myName but don't put anything in it yet. I put in scripts.js var('myName');

I am not able to figure our what I am doing wrong. Do I use index.html? If so how?

You were right, problem was fixed shortly after I posted this.

It seems like you forgot to put " ; " after you declared the variable.

sure thing! Happy coding.
