How do I go about this task, some of the things are not fully addressed in the tutorial or lest I missed them?

Hi, it has been worded in a way so you can code it like in the video, the question states

favoriteColor String equals "";

Firstly you put the variable type, followed by the variable name '=' "favourite colour";

This is standard format for Java, so any variables you need to declare in the future can follow this format. So it would look something like this:

String favoriteColor = "Green";
