Challenge task 1-1

what's wrong with this code? I have error.

Hi ellie adam,

You have a minor typo which is there's no such function called parseIt, the function you're looking for is parseInt which accepts a string and returns an integer.

Also one other thing to note is you don't need to use the parseInt function on variables that are already valid integers therefore you can omit it in your totalWidth variable for numOfDivs.

var totalWidth = parseInt(width) + numOfDivs;
