Hi,
What's your view on changing career at 35? well actually i am turning 36...
I have a decade of experience in business development and marketing.. situation leads me to this career.. and honestly i am tired of it..
my passion is really on computer, specially programming and my heart tells me to go for it..
I would like to know your views on this. Is there anyone here who shifted career same as my age? what are the issues you encountered?

Sadly unlike you, I don't have any qualifications in marketing, business and computing and I am really hoping all I have learned on Treehouse and through own learning will lead me to finding a job. I just think if you really want to change and have the frame of mind to learn new skills then you should go for it. If it's your passion, then that, I think, counts for alot. I certainly think your marketing background will help you in web design/ development and programming... I wish I had that kind of background as so far, my lack of experience in these fields is what as hampered my finding of a job. Alot of web firms don't really look at a trained chef!! Keep learning, keep practising. Build sites, build programmes and build up an awesome portfolio....I think thats gonna give you the best start and try and make yourself stand out. Best of luck to you and I really think if you want it enough and work hard enough you can achieve your goals! :)

18,033 PointsJuan Tamad, I am looking at changing my career at 38. I don't think it's ever too late. The nice thing about web design/development is the possibility of doing some freelance work. That's the path I am looking at taking. I'm hoping to do some freelance work to build a portfolio and either, keep freelancing if it looks like I can make a living at it, or use the portfolio I build to find a job. I wish I could tell you that day 1 was the hardest day, but I can't. Sometimes it gets really discouraging. You just have to push through it and know that better days are ahead. Work hard and you will get there. I hope it helps to know that other people are in the same situation. Best of luck!
