Class meaning

What is the meaning of assigning class="light" here and with the radio buttons? Not sure what it does or why it is necessary.

He added the class="light" to just add some styles that were pre-made in the CSS file already. You just didn't see him create these specific styles in the CSS file because it was already prepared.
