I get an error: "Portfolio list item should link to index.html". The code runs when I create a folder and run from my PC.

11,544 PointsYour challenge is flagging an error because of your anchor closing tag, in order to link each of your list element to the corresponding link, you have to move the anchor closing tag to the end of each list element.
Here is how you should do it:
<nav> <ul> <li> <a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li> <li> <a href="about.html">About</a></li> <li> <a href="contact.html">Contact</a></li>
</ul>
</nav>
