Code not running for racecar.py

My code for this challenge is not running and can't figure whether there's a syntax or just a general code issue when I added the 2nd method.

racecar.py
class RaceCar:

    laps = 0

    def __init__(self, color, fuel_remaining, **kwargs):

        self.laps = laps
        self.color = color
        self.fuel_remaining = fuel_remaining

        for key, value in kwargs.items():
            setattr(self, key, value)

    def run_lap(self, length):
        self.length=length
        self.fuel_remaining -= (self.length*0.125)
        self.laps += 1

There isn't anything named just "laps" available to set "self.laps" from.

But you don't need it anyway, it only needs to be set to 0 to begin with.
