Code Oregon - Current Student

I signed up to participate it Code Oregon and I just received and email explaining the process of signing up for Treehouse, but after following that link it was having me make a new account. Do I need to make a new Treehouse account in order to be a part of Code Oregon? I would love to maintain my current progress in Treehouse so I am hoping that you can add Code Oregon to your current account. Thanks!

I signed up via the link in the Code Oregon email, but I'm not seeing any reference on my account to Code Oregon. Is it linked in some way? Do we get anything special? I'm unsure what all I need to do exactly.

I am in the same boat. I don't want to lose my progress by starting a new account, but would love to be part of this program.

James Gill -

That's true for questions about content, like I'm stuck on this code challenge. That isn't true for reporting issues with the site (this video doesn't play), billing related questions or in this case sign up related questions to a program Treehouse is running.

Hi everyone,

I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner. Let me check with Worksystems (the folks we're collaborating with on this) to see how we transition current Treehouse Students over to Code Oregon.

Thanks for being Treehouse Students!

Cheers, Ryan

I went to register yesterday with Worksource and they had no idea what I was talking about. They said that they were supposed to have a meeting today. I just got off the phone with them, and they had no new information for me. They basically told me how to signup on codeoregon.org (which I wouldn't have received the email had I not already done so). The guy also said it was only free for 60 days.... is this true? I'm super grateful for the opportunity and am so excited about the whole program! THANK YOU! :)

I went to WorkSource the other day and they didn't have any information for me either. Just sign up and start working and they only knew that because someone else had come in before me and that's what they had done. Wish this was a little more thought out and organized first.

Hi Stevawn,

As I understand it from reading articles on this Code Oregon program, the training is free for one year.

I'm sorry about that Stevawn Carroll! We didn't anticipate such huge demand and traffic to WorkSource centers. We've now put systems into place to prepare all the WorkSource centers better - they should be ready to go now. I'm really sorry about your experience :(

Thanks James Gill - yes, that is our response. I'm so sorry we can't let people switch over :(

I created this account after following a link given to me by the Code Oregon email. Am I setup to go or am I in the same boat as everyone else? I didn't have an existing account before Code Oregon. This account was created after.

Hi Bryan, you're good to go, thanks! Please pick a Track and start learning. We'll get in touch with you in a few weeks.
