Code Playgrounds/Sandboxes?

Although this may sound silly, I was curious if anyone could give me some suggestions to some websites where I can 'mess around' with what I've learned. It needs to be free (for now, I don't plan on doing too much). I have checked out CodePen, but I don't know where else to look...

If anyone has any suggestions or preferences, please let me know! :)

shiftedit.net has both a free and a paid version with more accoutrements. Shift Edit is an online IDE with FTP capability. It's a little bit more complicated than codepen, but I think it's awesome and worth the mention.

Thanks everyone! :)
