Collaborate with BackEnd Developers

Hey Everyone,

We all know how GREAT TreeHouse has been to us.

If you've been fortunate enough to have TreeHouse reach out to you or maybe they haven't had the time.

They want us to:

  1. Go on to work on great projects
  2. Have great careers.

It starts with a support group and a team. I am reaching out to find a team that wants to work on projects together play to our strengths and see what we are capable of.

Plus join the event to join the group. Or respond to this post with your strengths.

We meet through google hangouts. We're creating a FULL STACK team whatever skill you're learning, we will make it a goal to use our STRENGTHS. We prefer if each member had a focus.

Hello Blake,

I like the initiative of this idea. I would like to be a part of this growing team. I am pretty novice at this point though I am on a fast track to get up to par. I am focusing on CSS the most right now and hoping to be an asset in JS as well. I'd like to be apart of this, as I think with the right group of people it can thrive. So I'd like an invitation to the google+ group to get the ball rolling.

No, I didn't get any message. On here or on Google+? My day was pretty busy though so I wouldn't have read it until now, sorry about that.

Hey, everyone.

I was scanning through the forums and found this thread. Sounds like a great idea!

So a little about me. As a '11 Florida State University finance graduate, I landed an internship at Florida Dental Association after starting school again for accounting (going for the CPA designation). After 9 long miserable months in classes and endless studying, I finally decided to stop chasing the money and start focusing on what I really wanted to do: web dev & design. I had done a few courses in college and I kept finding myself picking up HTML/CSS books and learning for fun.

Not too long ago, the FDA hired a new CEO, Drew Eason (awesome guy), to lead the FDA's organization and after seeing how "old-fashioned" our branding was (particularly the FDA's logo & website), he undertook a complete overhaul for re-branding the company. Fortunately for me, after working closely with inter company with the IT department, I was able to network myself in to an IT position in May'14 to help build the new website, which is based on Telerik's Sitefinity CMS (.NET development platform). As a prior student of Treehouse, I immediately signed up (again) for the FE Web Dev track and started learning everything I could. After a few months, me and my back-end developer (IT is only a 4 man team, 2 building the site) had a fresh, new concept for the website and it was sent off to the board, and last Friday we finally got the go ahead from FDA's Chief Content Editor to go forward with the site! Not only that, I basically landed the lead designer/dev role (still think I'm grossly under-qualified, although I have a burning desire to learn)!

I am very interested in collaborating on many projects so that I may learn, implement, and build amazing things with amazing people. My web skills are a little of a "jack of all trades" with HTML5/CSS3/JS and a little asp.NET. I also have a certificate in Commercial Photography, so I'm no stranger to Photoshop and I also have some video editing experience. I plan to stick to the FE Dev track as it is the most interesting to me so far, but I am always willing to help where I can.

I requested an invite on your Google link, but I have to be honest, I am not too familiar with G+, so it may take me a second to figure out how the group interaction works. That said, I'm never afraid of a little challenge, so give me a shout and lets start building awesome things! Hope to hear from you all soon.

Stuart what's a good way to reach you. Do you know how to use Google Hangouts?
