Combining Strings Code does not work

In the Javascript Module in the lesson about Combining Strings....my code does not work. Does anyone have any idea why? Before I added line 2 and on, the prompt rule was functioning.

var visitor = prompt("What is your name?"); var message = "Hello " + visitor + ".Welcome to Chow."; message + = "We are glad you stopped by to visit,"; message + = visitor; message + = ".Please come again."; document.write(message);

Hi Nicollette,

Take care with your short hand concatenation the + and = need to be next to each other "+="

Below should work fine for you now.

var visitor = prompt("What is your name?");
var message = "Hello " + visitor + ".Welcome to Chow.";
message += "We are glad you stopped by to visit,";
message += visitor;
message += ".Please come again.";
document.write(message);

Hope this helps.

Happy coding

That did it! Thank you!
