Community Curated Challenges

I currently use codewars.com to supplement my python learning at Treehouse. I think their system is pretty awesome, allowing me repetitive practice of different techniques and tools to solve interesting mini problems.

I know this might be superfluous (because code wars already exists), but I think it would be really cool to include some sort of community curated challenges section at Treehouse.

Maybe that section (or one specifically made for Techdegree students) could also work as a bridge for learners into the job market. Someone might pose a an issue to the student community and the students could each take a stab at it. There might be a scoring system that vouches for the student's successes, helping them to stand out as hirable to recruiters perusing the rankings.

Of course that would encourage a competitive spirit that doesn't feel as lovey as Treehouse typically does... Maybe there could be a system in place to pair up students with recruiters/question posers in a way that is more constructive than competitive? Maybe students form teams to tackle the challenges?

Anyway, I know that is a TON of work to consider taking on in order to implement such functionality... I just think it could be a cool way to maybe link Techdegree students with potential employers, or just give other subscribers more repetitive practice time with their subject matter :)

Love everything you guys do for us!! Thanks so much,

Van

As you say, there's already Code Wars. Plus, there's also:

...and a bunch more you can find with a search. Enjoy.
