<link href="style.css" rel="stylesheet"> <--- rel specifies the relationship between the current document and the linked document

The (rel=) stands for the relation that the link has to the page. So you would want to leave both of the (rel=) descriptions as stylesheet. Try putting the css file name in the (href="") quotations.
