Confused by Design Patterns in JavaScript

Hi,

So I am doing the Fullstack Javascript path and I am confused. I just saw the video about Design Patterns but I don't really now where / when I would use it.

I understand that it is an interesting concept. However is it something I should really master before continuing ?

If you're learning coding for the first time, this might not be clear. Once you've written and or modified real programs you'll find it easier to recognize design patterns and understand their usefulness.
