Connection refused when try to open connection on cyberduck. Anyone know why?

I updated my OS (I am on Mac), and was finally able to download cyberduck. But now whenever I try to open a connection with my server and username (I have checked both of these and they seem to have no problems on their own), it tells me "Connection refused. The connection attempt was rejected. The server may be down, or your network may not be properly configured."

Then it asks if I want to go to network diagnostics, but when I click on it, nothing happens. Help would be greatly appreciated :(
