Python Python Sequences Sequence Iteration Iterating with Ranges

console isn't working

when i type in the code on ranges.py and then go down into the console to activate python 3 and ranges.py it comes back with nothing except the same treehouse:~/worspace$.

meanwhile, when i type the same exact code into the console itself it works fine. I do exactly the same thing as the person in the video and have the exact same correct indentation and everything. Nothing is misspelled. why is this?
