console response without a function

Why we need to do a function response ? why can we not just log out the response ?like this

fetch('https://dog.ceo/api/breeds/image/random')
.than(console.log(response));

If you write the code like that, the system will perform the console.log first, before running the fetch or then. Passing a function callback allows the system to execute it later, after the promise has been resolved.

Hi , thank you for the response. I really appreciate it. Could you please tell me where could i find the workshop for the promises in js because i cant see this workshop anywhere. I dont know anything about promises in js.
