Ruby User Authentication with Rails Adding User Support to Our Application Requiring Login

controller.stub(:current_user).and_return(User.new) is not working

Hello,

This is not working when I use

controller.stub(:current_user).and_return(User.new)

it makes all my tests fail but all my tests work with the :require_user

controller.stub(:require_user).and_return(true)

can someone explain to me why it works with :require_user and not with :current_user ?
