Copyright Themes

I downloaded some free Themes on the WordPress website but I've noticed that on the footer there is a Copyright notice of the Author with a link to their website. If I would like to use it for a future client can I remove this notice without going in any trouble ?

Another question about Copyright, once that I pay a Premium Theme can I keep using this theme for other clients ? or I must purchase it every time for every single client ?

Thank you in advance

Usually the author of the them will have different price ranges for whether you are using the theme once or multiple times. I would follow that.

If the theme you bought doesn't have that you could always contact the author and ask just to be considerate. In terms of free themes, again, I would contact the author.
