Course.step_set.all and inner joins - Add a Detail View video

When we do something like Course.step_set.all does this use inner joins in the database to find the steps that relate to courses?

So I am imagining something like, looking at the id of the course and then doing an inner join matching on course_id...

My database/sql knowledge is alright but not decent, just trying to get a better idea on how Django gets data from databases, and sends that to the browser - as it seems to magically handle all that kind of stuff!
