When I posted the following code for my answer, it said the background colour was wrong. the [.main-header] code was also faded out

@media (max-width: 1020px) { .main-header { background-color: tomato; color: white; } }

when I posted the following code with an empty class rule the [.main-header] code was not faded out, and the code was accepted.

.vow {}

@media (max-width: 1020px) { .main-header { background-color: tomato; color: white; } }

/* Complete the challenge by writing CSS below */

@media screen and (max-width: 1020px) {
  .main-header {
    background-color: tomato;
    color: white;
  }
}

You need to state which media type you want, in this case a screen (as opposed to 'print', for printers, or 'speech' for screen readers.

The 'and' states that we want the following css to apply only if we have a media type of screen and the width of that screen is below 1020px.
