Create a navigation element using <nav> in between header

I am totally clueless as to how to tackle the question below. Also, do I want to keep my previous code, and just add to by answering the question listed below?

Question: Create a navigation element with an unordered list element after the link inside the header. Don't add any list items or links just yet.

index.html
!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Nick Pettit</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <header>
      <a href="index.html">
        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
      </a>
    </header>
    <section></section>
    <footer>
      <p>&copy; 2013 Nick Pettit.</p>
    </footer>
  </body>
</html>

Hi Adeniyi,

an unordered list in a navigation looks like this. The question tells you were to put it: "after the link inside the header."

       <nav>
         <ul>
         </ul>
      </nav>
