Create a new public method isBatteryEmpty...

I just can't seem to figure out this code and everything I am trying is coming out wrong. The part with my question is right at the bottom which goes: public String isBatteryEmpty()...

class GoKart {
  public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
  private String color;
  private int barCount;

  public GoKart(String color) {
    this.color = color;
  }

  public String getColor() {
    return color;
  }

  public void charge() {
    barCount = MAX_BARS;
  }

  public String isBatteryEmpty() {

    if(isBatteryEmpty == 0) {
        return true;
    }else{
       return false;
    }
  }

}
GoKart.java
class GoKart {
  public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
  private String color;
  private int barCount;

  public GoKart(String color) {
    this.color = color;
  }

  public String getColor() {
    return color;
  }

  public void charge() {
    barCount = MAX_BARS;
  }

  public String isBatteryEmpty() {

    if(isBatteryEmpty == 0) {
        return true;
    }else{
       return false;
    }
  }

}

Hi! I hope i could understand your question. The problem is that, your isBatteryEmpty method should return a String, and it returns a boolean. Change the String to boolean in the method header.

Also, you can just write

       public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
         return isBatteryEmpty == 0;
       }

Update: Sorry, It's late here, in Europe.

Your class do not have a isBatteryEmpty field, it is a method.

       public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
         return barCount== 0;
       }
