591 PointsCSS media query - header background presents an issue when browser is extended to desktop size.
Hello,
I have having an issue when I add the following code into my responsive.css file, and extend the browser to desktop size. The header background colour drops minimizes to a tiny border at the top of the page. Any help would be really wonderful!
@media screen and (min-width: 660px) {
/***************************
HEADER
***************************/
nav {
background: none;
float:right;
font-size:1.125em;
margin-right: 5%;
text-align:right;
width: 45%;
}
#logo {
float:left;
margin-left:5%;
text-align: left;
width: 45%;
}
h1 {
font-size: 2.5em;
}
h2 {
font-size: 0.825em;
margin-bottom:20px;
}
header {
border-bottom:5px solid #ff4d4d;
margin-bottom:10px;
}
}

From what you are describing, it seems your header might have collapsed, due to you floating "logo" and "nav" elements. If it is what is happening then you would need to create a clearfix and add it to the <header> as a class.
In your CSS document
.clearfix::after {
content: "";
display: table;
clear: both;
}
and in your html document
<header class="clearfix">...</header>
