css3 how to push down page when menu is clicked

Hi I'm new to css but have some programming experience , I am developing a website and i want to push down the page when my drop down menu is clicked on. I'm wondering can i do this in css3 and if so, GIVE ME THE CODE!!

Joking but any feedback would be greatly appreciated...

could be done with jquery slidedown if that helps
