Data Analysis and UX

Hi,

I'm not a professional UX designer so I just wanted Treehouse community's insight.

I work as a research assistant in a university environment, and naturally researchers tend to use programs like SPSS or Stata (or just use R). For some of the products that are developed in the lab, we want to collect user data and analyze them. However, the data analysis course on Treehouse seems to focus on Microsoft's Excel - do other UX designers sole rely on Excel / Google Sheets to analyze data? Do we know if Team TreeHouse will focus on dealing with user behavior data with softwares like SPSS or Stata?

Treehouse currently doesn't teach R, SPSS, or Stata, but I hope they will in the future!
