Data manipulation

I was wondering what is the generator that matches data. Singles.com is a good example...people write down their ethnicity,age,body type...and then it matches their data with others similar. How does the data work together? Thanks

That would be a mixture of Big Data and their own algorithms to match people together. There isn't really any specific answer to this question as there are many ways for it to be done.
