Database Foundations: Stage 2 - Installing MySQL Server and MySQL Workbench

I just downloaded and install MySQL server and Workbench 6.0 on MAC OS 10.8. Upon opening Workbench, the "Workbench Central Panel/Workspace" is not showing and I do not see menu options for any of the commands within the panel. The server is running and I copied the config file to etc. Please advise if you have any ideas on why this would not show.

I uninstalled Workbench 6.0 and installed version 5.2 and the issue is resolved.
