Database MySQL Workbench Installation Problem

Hi I recently joined Team Treehouse and started Database Deep Dive. I followed all the steps for installing MySQL Server and Workbench, however when the Database Connection was tested, it did not connect. Is this because I have Mac OSx version 10.9 as I downloaded the version for 10.7 from the MySQL website? If someone could help me with this, it would be really helpful.

Hi Devansh, https://teamtreehouse.com/forum/mysql-workbench-connection will most likely help you with this issue if you're using MAMP (wrong port).
