Default Landing Page Issue

So really quick like :>

I wanted to learn Wordpress.

I already had a domain and server (using namecheap and the student server being offered on Treehouse).

I had a website already built and published.

After I installed Wordpress, WP took the default landing page. I uninstalled and reinstalled under the /wordpress dir hoping that would fix my problem.

It did create a new wp dir but now my landing page for my domain goes to a simple unformated php landing page and not my original page.

I can't figure out how to fix this.

Can you help please??

HA I JUST found a solution.

I went into the Index Manager - Web Root public_html section on C-Panel.

I changed the setting from default to another setting and then changed it back to the default.

It went back and now everything works!!!!

Thanks Michael for the response!

Warning I have no information on wordpress itself. However you said you published this, so with (again) no knowledge of wordpress (yet), check your TTL settings on the domain. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_to_live

Just a hunch but it may be a really large number where your page may be correctly there but not displaying properly because of long cache times...

again, just a hunch
