To define a string variable you always write the type of variable (String, int, char, etc.) first then what you want to name it, and last give it a value. In this case you will give it type String and name it firstName and set it to equal your first name. So it will look like this: String firstName = Sudarshan;

make sure Surdarshan is in quotes. String firstName = "Sudarshan";
