Definitions of Different Templates & What to Use

I think I'm getting some what confused. I keep reading about different templates for responsive, fluid and adaptive layouts but not entirely sure what why one should use one template over another.

Can someone help explain the differences between:

  • Bootstrap
  • HTML5 Boilerplate
  • Initializer
  • Foundation
  • Normalize

I figured this site would be the perfect place for a succinct response :)
